Love is in the air, and the National Art Honor Society, or NAHS for short, has been hard at work this month planning their winter fundraiser: A Crush for your Crush. Beginning on Wednesday, February 7, the Valentines themed fundraiser is a wonderful opportunity for South Oldham students to support the arts, and get a gift for their special someone! The NAHS will be selling Crush Sodas that students can have delivered to a person of their choosing. Other items for sale include stickers and crochet earrings. Over the past few weeks, NAHS members have been creating lots of art for the fundraiser. Stickers representing South Oldham spirit and handmade crochet heart earrings have all been made with love by NAHS students.
NAHS is a great opportunity for students to explore different art styles and techniques in a supportive environment surrounded by fellow creatives. As a National Honor Society, the NAHS is a service-based organization. Vice President Violet Kennedy (12) explains, “The Winter Fundraiser is a great way for students in the club to be involved in supporting an important cause. Many of these students will pursue an art-oriented career like graphic design or arts administration. The opportunity to plan and participate in fundraisers like these is a great experience for them to apply to their futures.” By purchasing items from this fundraiser, Students can engage with an important part of their community and support the art department at SOHS. Stop by the NAHS fundraiser during lunch this week from Feb 7-14 and send your crush a special surprise!
