Jacq Schroeder, Student Life Editor

Jacq Schroeder is the student life editor of the Dragon’s Tale. Jacq is an avid reader and writer and loves to get lost in a good story, which is why they joined Dragon’s Tale. They love to spin a tale, and journalism creates an avenue for them to do such in a relatable way to other students.  In their free time Jacq drives around aimlessly with friends and listens to a playlist based on all the best coming of age movies. Music plays a big part in Jacq’s life and they love everything from BTS to Taylor Swift. Lyrics are an inspiration to them, and they tie songs to almost everything they see or do. To them life is a shuffled playlist, and they hope to see what type of songs connect the students at South. They aim to excavate all aspects of student life and bring light to things outside of your typical Friday Night Lights episode. To them students aren’t just people clapping in stands and writing in desks, but complex characters. They hope to integrate that personal level of consciousness into the magazine. As a creative writer Jacq hopes to combine fictional storytelling with factual journalism in order to create a sort of poetic admiration of everyday life. Opposed to mundanity they will highlight the areas of student life that best express our students' interactions and ambitions to create a fantasy out of reality.
